1. Confirm the platform you will use
Start with the console you actually own. The announced launch platforms are PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. If you are waiting for PC, leave that purchase decision open: an official PC announcement is still needed before you can plan a PC launch.
2. Decide which content you want
Standard provides the base game; Ultimate adds extra content. Read the current edition description before comparing local prices. Keep the edition choice separate from the choice between a digital purchase and a boxed download code.
3. Plan the download
Rockstar Support lists November 12 at local midnight for digital preloading. Check the platform store for published storage requirements and leave enough time for your own internet connection. Preloading prepares the files; it does not establish when the game becomes playable.
4. Check the purchase details
Before paying, verify the platform, account region, edition and retailer terms on the actual listing. Save your receipt. If you choose a box, read its contents carefully: Rockstar says the physical version uses a download code and does not include a disc.
5. Make a small, spoiler-safe shortlist
Choose one revealed region you want to explore and save its overview. Treat this as a list of interests, not a tested route. Our local checklist records your preparation steps; it does not track missions or completion inside GTA VI.
